Find Your Mac's Serial Number

Want to check your Mac's serial number quickly and easily? Select About This Mac from the Apple menu, and click on the text directly below "Mac OS X" that reads "Version 10.x.x." Click once and you'll get a build number which is more specific information about the software. Click twice, and you'll get your Mac's serial number.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus For Mac 1.0

Internet security company Kaspersky has unveiled its first product targeted at Mac users, Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Mac. The software is mainly aimed at preventing Mac users from unknowingly acquiring Windows-specific viruses and then passing them on to Windows-using contacts whose machines could be affected. Features include real-time download and attachment scanning, minimal CPU usage, automatic updating, and the inclusion of the latest Kaspersky anti-virus technology. Although we do find a new entrant in the Macintosh anti-virus world interesting, we don't recommend anti-virus software for most Mac users (see "Should Mac Users Run Antivirus Software?," 18 March 2008). $59.95? For real? In comparison to the cost of protecting Windows with a ratio of OS to virus - the cost to Apple users should be Free to a Dollar right now. Unless of course Kaspersky is planning to release Ten Thousand+ virus' for the Mac soon.

I'm running this on my iMac since a day or so, and must say the interface leaves much to be desired. The 'feel' is not Mac-like...
