Copy Excel Selection as a Picture
Want to show someone a chunk of an Excel spreadsheet via email or iChat? You could take a screenshot, but if you want to show just a portion of the Excel window and you don't use a utility like Snapz Pro, you can do this right from within Excel 2008. Make a selection, hold down the Shift key, and choose Copy Picture from the Edit menu. You can select whether the selection will be rendered as though it was shown on screen or as though it was printed. Then just switch to your desired destination and paste.

| Intuit Drops Quicken
Citing declining sales, Intuit has stopped development of Quicken for Macintosh, a long-popular personal finance package; details about the decision are posted on Intuit's Web site. Intuit does plan to continue selling and supporting Quicken 98 for the Macintosh, but Quicken's Macintosh engineers have been re-assigned to work on expanding Intuit's Internet-based personal finance services. This move comes less than a year and a half after the company ceased developing Mac versions of QuickBooks and QuickBooks Pro, its professional accounting and tax software, and essentially leaves the Macintosh without personal financial management software, since Quicken has long-dominated the Macintosh market. Intuit says it will continue to develop MacInTax, its Macintosh-based tax preparation software.
