Removing Photos from iPhoto

Despite iPhoto's long history, many people continue to be confused about exactly what happens when you delete a photo. There are three possibilities.

If you delete a photo from an album, book, card, calendar, or saved slideshow, the photo is merely removed from that item and remains generally available in your iPhoto library.

If, however, you delete a photo while in Events or Photos view, that act moves the photo to iPhoto's Trash. It's still available, but...

If you then empty iPhoto's Trash, all photos in it will be deleted from the iPhoto library and from your hard disk.

German Translators Needed!

German Translators Needed! Our German translation team has dwindled in size and available time, so much so that they haven't been able to translate TidBITS for a while now. (Our Japanese, Dutch, and French translations are still going strong; Spanish and Russian are in need of new translation teams.) If you can spend a little time each week helping to translate TidBITS into German, or helping put together and distribute the finished product (for those who are fluent German editors but aren't as comfortable with translation), the German-speaking Macintosh community will thank you. For more information, please contact Heinz Gnehm <gnehm@infotrax.ch>. Thanks for helping out! [ACE]
